Gratitude

I just want to say many thanks to my lovely Matthew, who helped me with the technical side of making my blog look pretty... i can't believe he put up with my demands of "no i want it this colour" and "that's too small" and "can i have it here?" then, once that was done, "actually i want it here instead". He's great :)

Chicago: 1920

Last year in August, Monique and I got to go see Chicago at one of the theaters in Melbourne. Neither of us had been to the theatre before and we were both looking forward to the unique cultural experience. The show was great... I wanted to get up and sing and dance to the music that I knew from the hollywood movie released a few years ago. Ohhh reminiscing....

Can't wait for another musical experience xx

The summer that is

Summer... sigh. Its the best. Its the time of year when your worries melt into the sun and your thoughts emerge into reality. Having triumphed the wintery blasts of Melbourne the sun has revitalized my mind and soul.

Finally, after saving a small pocket full of change from the call centre job I skipped back to New Zealand mid december.

Monique and I road tripped it from Tauranga down to the South Island in her beloved Sunny....

Lake Tekapo (the bluest lake ever)
Mount Cook...
Make shift beds on the floor of the ferry crossing...
Swimming with dolphins in Kaikoura at dawn...

Destination: Wanaka
...to see more visit my other half:

Wanaka is where the heart is... my gorgeous aunty and uncle have re-located from the north to the south and nestled in the sweetest little town. Buzzing in winter with snowboarders and skiiers wanting to conquer the mountain slopes which surround the village, in summer Wanaka's lake sparkles from the diamond sun-rays.

I adored having Christmas with my family here.

My brother and I
Festive feast
Hastily driving back up to the north for New Years in the Coromandel, I arrived just in time to be re-united with friends. Apart from physically missing the countdown due to undisclosed reasons, the Coromandel lived up to its usual high summer living standards.

New years at Coro Gold festival
Beaching it at Otama Bay with friends
After working for the first half of January at Scoops (an ice creamery & pizzeria), attending Big Day Out and having a relaxing last weekend with the girls going out for dinner, hanging at the Purangi Winery and chilling at the beach my time in NZ was coming to an end.

My voyage back to Melbourne with my fine friends Matt & Sam...
Holding my breath for the next adventure in my life... xx
